Bio

Heather has been serving as a full-time Athletic Trainer at DVC since Fall 2025.  She earned a B.S. in Applied Arts and Sciences Athletic Training degree from San Diego State University in 2020.  Her passion for the field was sparked while having the opportunity to be an observation student with the SDSU football team.  While gaining clinical hour student experience at SDSU and Grossmont College, Heather recognized first-hand the mind and body connection during injury recovery, especially post-surgery which inspired leaning into her additional interest in mental health.  Heather then went and earned an M.S. in Kinesiology with a specification of Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2022 from California State University, Long Beach.

Preceding her time at DVC, Heather has served most recently as an Athletic Trainer at UC Santa Cruz primarily caring for the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams.  She worked as an Athletic Trainer at UC Davis with competitive Sport Clubs, overseeing 41 teams ranging from lacrosse to equestrian.  Heather began her career as an Athletic Trainer at El Toro High School providing medical care for all sports.  Heather has also had various experiences in the field working events such as semi-pro soccer, youth rugby, amateur pickleball, basketball, and cheer, to name a few.

Heather enjoys being an integral part of working to return a student-athlete back to playing the sport they love by improving their quality of life and overall well-being while doing so.
