DVC Swim Shines at 3C2A Championships Behind Vecchio’s Co-High Point Performance
At the 77th Annual CCCAA Championships, held at the Orange Coast College Aquatic Pavilion, the Diablo Valley College men's team delivered a strong showing in finals, highlighted by Ray Fitch 's state title in the 50 free with a 20.51, along with a 13th-place finish in the 100 free (46.49). Daniel Lewis added depth with a 9th-place finish in the 100 IM (52.22) and a 10th-place effort in the 500 free (4:40.49), while Donovan Swann contributed with a 7th-place finish in the 100 IM (52.53) and an 8th-place swim (53.38), showcasing the team's consistency across finals sessions.
On the women's side, DVC was powered by Women's State Meet Co-High Point honoree Evalinne Vecchio, who delivered an exceptional championship performance with titles in the 100 free (51.52) and 100 back (57.30), while also finishing 2nd in the 50 free (23.91). Natalia Avalos Paz added significant finals contributions with an 8th-place finish in the 100 IM (1:02.89), another 8th-place finish in the 200 IM (2:14.85), and a strong 5th-place showing in the 400 IM (4:46.66). Together, the women delivered impactful championship-final swims and key relay contributions, reinforcing DVC's depth and competitiveness throughout the meet.
