Solano
The Diablo Valley College baseball team continued a strong opening to the 2026 season, defeating Solano twice over the weekend to improve to 4–2 overall.
January 29 | DVC 3, Monterey Peninsula 2
The Vikings edged Monterey Peninsula in a tight, low-scoring contest at Viking Field. After falling behind early, DVC broke through in the fifth inning when Leo Parades delivered a two-RBI single to give the Vikings the lead. DVC added an insurance run in the sixth and made it stand up behind a steady pitching performance. Teagan Gonzales earned the win on the mound, and Calvin Johnson closed the door to secure the save as the Vikings held on for the one-run victory.
January 30 | DVC 10, Solano 7
DVC's offense exploded early the following day, scoring six runs in the first inning to seize control against Solano. Anthony Capra highlighted the frame with a three-RBI double, while the Vikings continued to apply pressure throughout the game. Leo Parades reached base four times and drove in a run, while Jack Dress and Cameron Valentine each contributed key RBIs. On the mound, Nicholas Meadows earned the win, and Carsten Gill picked up the save as DVC fended off a late Solano rally.
January 31 | DVC 9, Solano 3
The Vikings completed the series with an emphatic road win at Solano. After allowing three runs in the first inning, DVC responded with a five-run fourth and added four more in the fifth to pull away. Kenji Tello went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Nicholas Meadows and Cameron Imberg also drove in runs. The bullpen was dominant, led by Jackson Kolakoski, who threw five scoreless innings to earn the win and shut down Solano's offense.
