This Saturday, November 2nd is our annual American Cancer Society benefit game at DVC. We will be co-sponsoring with Saint Mary's. Most of you know the story of Lauren McCullough and many of you met her on the first fundraiser when she eloquently spoke about her battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. Her family remains grateful to DVC lacrosse for helping her launch her voice in her final months speaking out about her fight and the inadequate funding for finding cures for childhood cancers. A documentary was recently produced by the public television channel in Sacramento and is currently on YouTube. I would recommend spending the 26 minutes to get to know Lauren more deeply and personally. She is the inspiration of Saturday's event and is our eternal captain wearing the #1 jersey which she was given on that first day when she served as honorary team captain.
So, on Saturday current Vikings play for Lauren, play with pride and play for your teammates, coaches and DVC. Saint Mary's players and coaches have been on board with this benefit game for a few years now, so much respect goes to SMC to request to be a part of this special event.
Adult entry is $10, students of all ages #2 and all proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society. Would love to see as many alumni as possible to support this event and be loud for the 2019 Vikings.
The Video starts here, right now!
