The National Fastpitch Coaches Association recognized three players for their excellence in the classroom; Terri Taylor, Ciara Whitesell, and Kaitlyn Van Motman. In order to be recognized, students must have acquired a 3.5 GPA for the year to qualify for the individual honor. Terri Taylor finished her first season with the Vikings with an impressive .511 batting average to rank No. 8 in the state. Ciara Whitesell finished an impressive career at DVC as a starting outfielder with an overall .271 and helped the Vikings in their successful playoff run. Kaitlyn Van Motman finished her career as a Viking with an overall .284 batting average. Her Freshman year, Kaitlyn finished with a .311 batting average and was named to the Big 8 Second Team All-Conference Team. Her Sophomore, Kaitlyn was a key player in the Vikings outfield and finished with a .254 batting average. The Vikings finished the season ranked #6 in Northern California and #13 in the state.
