DVC Athletics Update Week of 9/30- 10/7
Women’s Soccer continued Big 8 Conference play Tuesday with a 2-1 win vs. Modesto Junior College and a 0-0 tie vs. Sierra College on Friday. The Vikings have a BYE tomorrow and head to Cosumnes River College on Friday. Game time is at 3:30pm. Current Record: 6-3-3
Women’s Water Polo continued Big 8 play with a 8-3 loss vs. American River Wednesday. The Vikings are HOME Wednesday (10/11) when they take on the Fresno City College at 3:30pm in the pool. Current Record 4-8.
Men’s Water Polo defeated American River Wednesday by a score of 15-8. The Vikings headed to Riverside to compete in the RCC Water Polo tournament where they went 1-3 with losses to Golden West College, Orange Coast, Long Beach CC and defeated Grossmont College 13-3. The Vikings head to Saratoga Saturday (10/14) to compete in the West Valley Mini Tournament. Current Record 8-9.
Women’s Volleyball continued Big 8 Conference play with a loss to Sacramento City College in 3 sets, 25-12, 25-23, & 25-19. The Vikings defeated Cosumnes River College on Friday in 4 sets, 25-12, 19-25, 25-18 & 25-23. DVC Volleyball has a BYE on Wednesday and head to Modesto Junior College on Friday to take on the Pirates at 6:30pm. Current Record: 6-9.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country competed in the Toro Park Invitational where the Women had two Top 40 finishes; Jessica Mendez 27th and Alyssa Clark 32nd. The Men’s team finished 3rd over all and had five Top 40 finishes; Luis Ramirez 9th, Jordan Bandtell 20th, Ata Ozmen 25th, Sayed Opeyany 26th, and John Perez 33rd. Cross Country’s next meet is the Big 8 Championship race in Stockton on Friday, October 27th.
Football is coming out of a BYE week and are headed to San Francisco Saturday, October 14th, to take on San Francisco City College at 1pm. Current Record 3-2.
